Moderate Sedation

A deeper level of sedation where patients remain responsive to verbal commands, either alone or with light touch. In Washington, moderate sedation with oral/enteral agents requires 7 CE hours every 3 years, while IV/parenteral moderate sedation requires 14 CE hours every 3 years

Used for patients who require the deepest level of anesthesia care, where airway support and advanced monitoring may be necessary. Washington dentists with a general anesthesia permit are required to complete 18 CE hours every 3 years
